Pool was conceived at Sir Anthony Caro’s studio as a name for group discussions, studio visits and tea break talk among Caro’s studio assistants and invited guests. It represents a ‘pool’ of ideas.
This limited edition publication was produced in 2012 after a visit to Charles Hewlings’ studio where the Pool group debated the notion of sculpture. The publication reflects concerns about the groups practices and views; discussing sculpture as a medium, ideal, ethos and attitude.
